The Grenoble University Graduate Business Institute offers a wide array of advantages. First and foremost, the IAE graduate school maintains close and constant contact with the business community, thus guaranteeing a highly relevant educational program. Moreover, the IAE remains part of the French national educational system which ensures the highest academic level in its faculty as all possess doctoral degrees in their respective fields. Finally, the Institute calls upon outside experts and specialists to provide the most up-to-date and pertinent practical courses.
The Grenoble IAE belongs to the French national network of Graduate Business Schools. This network comprises 31 institutes offering 500 national degrees in management science and has a total enrolment of near 35 000 students. The national network nutures exchanges of ideas and provides a strong incentive to enhance each specific institute’s curriculum through constant benchmarking.
The Grenoble metropolitan area ranks among Europe’s leading technopoles involving a vast range of high technology industries whose disciplines range from nuclear physics and materials science, electronics, information technologies to life sciences and one of today’s most dynamic sectors : nanotechnology. With over 18, 200 researchers, Grenoble prides itself as France’s second largest research center. The metropolitan area is the home of five major international laboratories and nine government-sponsored laboratories such as the Center for Research in Atom Energy (Grenoble CEA), the European Synchroton Radiation Facility, the French National Center for Scientific Research, the Laüe Langevin institute, France Telecom’s research and development laboratories and several hundreds of other leading laboratories. A variety of prestigious multinational corporations have been attracted to Grenoble : ST Micro Electronics, Schneider, HP, Cap Gemini have all created centers in the Dauphine’s capital city. Grenoble is also home to 4 major French universities and a young, intensely cosmopolitan population of some 55 000 students.
Core Degree Programs
Four Master’s degrees form the core programs. These programs embrace the fundamental areas of :
and within these broad fields a further 16 programs offer specialized career or research orientation. Many programs involve cross-departmental cooperation within Grenoble Univerisity while others involve partnerships with several universities.
The first year of study offers a customized curriculum tailored to each student’s prior academic background.
The second year’s studies offer much greater specialized training.
Courses in each of the four base programs are organized by semesters and respect a progressively more specialized curriculum :

The IAE offers a wide range of programs designed for salaried employees, executives and engineers as well as company directors, medical and legal professionals, consultants and more generally all those who, after highly specialized university studies or work experience, seek to deepen their knowledge in today’s modern management techniques or to hone their professional skills in some precise management field.
